Millions of people are setting their goals for the New Year including starting a weight loss program to finally drop those few extra pounds. And yet perhaps you're thinking, "I'd like to, but I just don't have the time...." There are 168 hours in every single week. Where does the time go? Lets take a good long look:
Activity /Time Spent /Time left in the week
Sleep: 8 hours a day /56 hours a week /112 hours remaining.
Full time job: 8 hrs a day /40 hours a week /72 hours remaining.
Commuting: 2 hours a day/ 10 hours a week /62 hours remaining.
Eating: 2 hours a day /14 hours a week/ 48 hours remaining.
Entertainment: 2 hrs/day /14 hours a week/ 34 hours remaining.
Miscellaneous: 2 hours a day/ 14 hours a week/ 20 hours remaining!
So where do the remaining 20 hours typically go? According to ACNielsen, the average American watches more than four hours of TV each day (or 28 hours per week, or two months of non-stop TV-watching per year). In a 65-year lifetime, that person will have spent nine years glued to the tube! How much is the TV habit costing you? Rethink your TV habit and start investing a few extra hours into yourself.

In other words, you can either watch "The Biggest Loser", or you can become one! That, again, is your Choice.
So the next time someone says to you, "I'd like to, but I just don't have the time...." show them the above referenced chart. After all, it appears we all have enough time to do what is truly important.

Great post! I spend a lot of time on the web, and quite a bit of it is classwork since I'm a full-time online student. However, sometimes I find myself wasting time on Facebook or mindlessly cruising sites when I have other things I could be doing like getting in a regular early morning workout instead of regular excuses. Sometimes a reminder simply laid out like this is a good reality check.
